Register now: Free Training Course on Mariculture Technologies in Asia-Pacific

The Yellow Seas Fisheries Research Institute will convene a free International Training Course on Mariculture Technologies from 22 October to 5 November in Qingao, China. The course is co-organised by NACA and hosted by the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology, China.

Participation in the course is free, with local accommodation, meals and transportation provided by the organiser. However, participants must fund their own flights / international travel expenses. Participation is limited to 20 trainees. Tuition will be in English.

Subject matter

The training course will include thematic lectures, hands-on mariculture technology training, field visits to farms and experiences on:

  • Theory and Technologies for Large-scale Breeding
  • Theory and Technologies for Genetic Breeding of Mariculture Animals
  • New Mariculture Models and Techniques
  • Mariculture Disease Control and Prevention
  • Nutrition and Feed Technologies for Mariculture Animals
  • Processing Technologies for Mariculture Products

Eligibility

The programme is aimed at strengthening human resources and building capacity in management and technology for mariculture in Belt and Road countries in the Asia-Pacific region. It is targeted principally at officers in national fishery administration agencies, researchers in fisheries institutions, technicians in fishery enterprises. 

The course is designed for officials, technicians and staff of fisheries-related international, educational and scientific institutions, and industrial associations in "Belt and Road" countries. Priority will be given to trainees from developing countries under 45 years of age, with at least an undergraduate degree or equivalent.
