The 3rd Regional Grouper Hatchery Production Training Course was conducted at the Brackishwater Aquaculture Development Center, Situbondo, East Java, Indonesia from April 18-May 8, 2005. There were a total of 17 participants coming from Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Singapore, and Vietnam. Skretting sponsored a private sector participant from Vietnam. The Asia-Pacific Marine Finfish Aquaculture Network sponsored a fisheries officer from Aceh to participate in the training course as part of the capacity building for rebuilding the aquaculture sector in Aceh which is the most affected area by the Tsunami on December 26, 2004. InterVet Singapore sent a fish health expert to provide technical presentations on fish diseases and fish health management. A well organized mixture of theory, practical and field trips were provided for the participants. NACA would like to thank both Skretting and InterVet for their support to the training course.
