If businesses can understand trade trends and future challenges in the ASEAN Economic Community, they can operate efficiently and effectively throughout the global value chain. But cross-border commercial and business operations can be complex, and this requires a thorough understanding of challenges and opportunities.
IDRC and the National University of Singapore (NUS) are offering fellowships for Southeast Asian entrepreneurs, leaders in business, government, and civil society who want to better understand Southeast Asian value chains. The four-day program from 19-22 March 2018 will give participants a useful toolkit of ideas to take full advantage of a connected ASEAN Economic Community.
Eligibility: Anyone from ASEAN member countries and Timor-Leste can apply for a fellowship grant to attend. Women leaders and participants from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam are especially encouraged to apply for the discretionary scholarships and grants. Fellowship grants of up to approximately CA$8,000 (including accommodation and transportation) are available.
Participants are strongly advised to apply at least two months in advance. Applications received after the deadline will be considered based on space availability. Please visit the NUS website to apply.
